New Culinary Spot in the Basement of Sarinah Building Jakarta

This time, I had the opportunity to visit one of the traditional Indonesian culinary centers in a shopping center on Thamrin Street, Jakarta, namely Pasar Nusantara, located in the basement of Sarinah Building Jakarta.

Sarinah Mall is situated at Jalan M.H. Thamrin No. 11, Jakarta Pusat. The mall is known for its uniqueness in emphasizing values such as history, culture, and economy within its premises. This is evident in the type of service provided, ranging from ornaments, decorations, to entertainment offered to visitors.

Different from most malls in Jakarta, Pasar Nusantara presents 50 types of regional dishes from 30 provinces in Indonesia. The presence of Pasar Nusantara in Sarinah Mall serves as a primary destination for introducing Indonesian culture.

For my chosen menu this time, I opted for Gado-Gado and es campur buah. Gado-Gado is an Indonesian dish consisting of various mixed vegetables, tempeh, tofu, potatoes, and boiled eggs, served with a flavorful peanut sauce. Vegetables used include water spinach, spinach, chayote, long beans, cabbage, and bean sprouts. It is accompanied by crackers and pieces of rice cake.

As for the es campur, it is made from a variety of fruits such as avocado, watermelon, papaya, melon, cantaloupe, cucumber, and more. It is then served with shaved ice and topped with sweet condensed milk.

Pasar Nusantara offers a new concept food court area, occupying the basement floor of Sarinah Building Jakarta, ready to present the deliciousness of Nusantara culinary delights to visitors.

With over 40 tenants, Pasar Nusantara showcases a wide array of foods and beverages, creating a delightful culinary experience for everyone.
